“Self- Cleaning” button on your oven

We recommend that you DO NOT use the “Self- Cleaning” button on your oven! While it seems so convenient and easy to just push a button for all of your oven gunk problems to just disappear, you are chancing a VERY costly repair! While in “cleaning” mode, ovens can reach in excess of 500 to even 1000 degrees. As you can imagine, the components in the oven like the control board and the fuses for example cannot withstand that much heat. When they get too hot it damages those parts thus leaving you with major repairs.
