Because Electrolux owns Frigidaire, both brands use the same oven “F” codes. Most point to the temperature sensor, the touchpad, or the door lock. Here’s what each means and when to call a technician.

Frigidaire & Electrolux oven error codes at a glance

Code What it means What to try
F10 Runaway / over-temperature Safety shutdown — check the RTD sensor; replace the relay board if it overheats after a reset
F11 Shorted touchpad (stuck key) Unplug a few minutes; replace keypad/EOC if it returns
F30 Temperature-sensor wiring fault Inspect the sensor wiring connections
F31 Open temperature sensor (RTD) circuit Test/replace the sensor (RTD)
F90 Door lock fault (unlock time exceeded) Check the door lock switch and its wiring

First step for most F-codes: reset at the breaker for a minute. Codes vary by model.

The most common codes — and how to fix them

F10 — runaway temperature

The control thinks the oven is overheating, so it shuts down for safety. Try first: a breaker reset. If it overheats again, the RTD sensor or relay board needs replacing — don’t keep using it until it’s fixed.

F31 / F30 — temperature sensor

The oven temperature sensor (RTD) circuit is open (F31) or has a wiring fault (F30). Try first: check the sensor’s wiring; the usual fix is a new sensor. See also oven temperature problems.

F11 — stuck key

A shorted touchpad. Try first: unplug for a few minutes. If it returns, the keypad/control needs replacing.

F90 — door lock

The door lock didn’t release in time (often after self-clean). It usually needs the lock switch/wiring checked.

A safety note: over-temperature codes (the oven running hotter than set) are a protective shutdown — don’t override them or force the oven back on. And with a gas range, if you ever smell gas, leave and call your gas company’s emergency line.

The bottom line

Most oven and range codes trace back to one part — a temperature sensor, a bake/broil element, a touchpad, or a door lock — and repairing is almost always cheaper than replacing. If a code won’t clear, we repair Frigidaire and Electrolux ranges (and every major brand) across DFW, usually same-day. Not sure yours is worth fixing? See our oven & range repair-or-replace guide.
